Lord Burgh’s Retinue

A group dedicated to the recreation of Sir Thomas Burgh's retinue and household (1460-1496), based at Gainsborough Old Hall, with the majority of their events in the Lincolnshire and Midlands area. The group has musicians and performs medieval dances and mummer’s plays in addition to portraying household activities such as cookery, service and administration. The group uses a range of artillery weapons in their military demonstrations, including replica handguns, crossbows and bows, and members own harnesses of armour, which it uses as part of weaponry displays.
New members are always welcome, and the group has spare clothing and other equipment to loan to newcomers. Lord Burgh's Retinue is also a member of Livery and Maintenance.
