Application for membership shall be made to the Secretary. If acceptable to the Federation Committee new groups can attend Federation events as probationary groups after prior vetting of their kit and safety standard. They shall then be mentored and monitored by the Wars of the Roses Federation and will only become full members when voted on at a subsequent AGM. Every new group must sign Understand of Risk showing that they understand the Terms & Conditions and the Wars of the Roses Federation Health & Safety Policy for attending events. The new group must also sign the constitution and every member should be aware of the rules. Federation insurance is available to probationary and full member groups at Federation events and will also cover the groups for their own events in that year although they must abide by Federation standards.
The current membership fees are £8 per member of probationary and full member groups aged sixteen years and older and £5 per member of probationary and full member groups aged 6 to 15 years of age. The age is determined as of the 1st January in that year. If a group joins all of its members must pay the membership fee to the Wars of the Roses Federation (not just the members wanting to participate in Wars of the Roses Federation events). After expenses and running costs the proceeds of Wars of the Roses Federation events are divided amongst the participating groups on a membership attendance pro-rata basis. In effect this means that providing groups have had a relatively good attendance at Federation events then they will recoup their initial membership fees. Most Federation groups recoup more than the fees they pay.
New groups are expected to abide by the Wars of the Roses Federation Dress Standard.
Membership is open to all groups whose members are all expected to abide by all the rules and this constitution.
There is no individual membership of the Federation. GROUPS ONLY.
Member all members of five years and older of member clubs
Probationary Member all members of five years and older of probationary clubs
The names of all members shall be submitted by their club to the Federation membership register maintained by the Secretary.
Annual membership runs from the first day of January to the last day of December, irrespective of the date of joining. Those members who have not renewed their membership by the first of June shall cease to be members and shall forfeit all associated rights.
The Committee reserves the right to refuse any application for membership.
